WT provided cost advice and full quantity surveying services to the City of Casey from the concepts, preliminary design and design development, full tender and post contract administration services through to final account.

The ambitious 1.6 hectare precinct, at the intersection of Princess Highway, Magid Drive and Patrick Northeast Drive in Narre Warren, includes:

  • an 800 seat regional theatre, including orchestra pit, proscenium arch and fly tower
  • multipurpose exhibition space,
  • a 200 seat studio of 362m2
  • regional art gallery,
  • function centre with 350 seat capacity, including audio visual technology,
  • new community library,
  • council office accommodation (approx. 8,700 m²),
  • council service area,
  • café,
  • car parking, and
  • an activated 5,000 m² community plaza.

The floor area totals approximately 22,000 m² and covers four levels including one basement level. An intricate glulam timber gridshell of 155 cubic metres crafted from birch and spruce provides a striking architectural feature
