Located on 60 hectares in the south-west corner of the University’s campus in Bundoora, the La Trobe Sports Park will provide a unique environment for sport, active recreation, teaching and research in sport.
The Sports Park is set to feature:
- A learning hub for national, state and local sport organisations and individuals to access the expertise of the University
- A unique environment for elite sport programmes and organisations to be supported by some of Australia’s world-class sport, exercise and rehabilitation researchers
Stage 1 was completed in 2018 and involved the demolition of the existing pavilion and portion of the main oval, construction of a new FIFA-standard synthetic football pitch and construction of a new main AFL oval and pavilion. The new pavilion has 9 change rooms and includes dedicated club spaces and a function room to seat 120 people.
Stage 2 is under construction and will include world class sports science research laboratories, an education and training centre, office accommodation for local, state and national sport organisations and 6 high ball indoor courts.
WT provided detailed cost management for the project from masterplanning through to pre-tender estimating including bills of quantities. Budget challenges required extensive value management and cost modelling.
We are currently providing construction stage quantity surveying services.
