WTP provided full quantity surveying, cost management and post contract services for Melbourne Airport’s bussing, airline lounge and transit expansion project (BALTE).

The project included a 6,500 m² expansion to the west of the international satellite and included additional international departures bussing capacity, relocated and expanded international transit screening facilities, increased departures lounge seating and new floor area for premium airline lounges at Level 4 (2,000 m² NLA).

The key component to this project is the management and staging of the works to ensure aircraft movements are not restricted, minimal disruption to airline operations, warrant passenger safety is not compromised, DDA compliance is maintained and minimal impact on existing lease agreements.

The construction works commenced in 2014 and with the project completed in 2015.
