WT provided cost planning from concept through to tender documentation phase, whole of life costing, cost reporting and monitoring of design development, assist in tender evaluation process, valuation of construction progress claims, verification of contract variations.

Proposed development for new medical research and biomedical research facility including laboratories, animal house, offices, library, auditorium, cafeteria, data centre and car parking spaces.

The Westmead site is extremely congested and presents many logistical challenges which need to be considered during the design development period. The infrastructure services are at capacity in the area and detailed investigations have been assessed to provide the right solution for the building now with consideration also of the Campus requirements in the future. The construction is located adjacent to hospital and research facilities so noise during construction is a factor as is the construction below the helicopter flight path. All of these specific restrictions were assessed early on and the design progressed with possible solutions.
