WTP provided full quantity surveying services for the Sciences Transformation Project located within the Banks Precinct of the Australian National University. The precinct provides world class accommodation for the ongoing scientific endeavour of major chemistry and biological sciences teaching and research within the University.
Refurbishment of an occupied building including extensive services upgrade, as well as extensive lobby and external works. The scope of works included replacing on floor services plant and BMCS, installing new fire services systems and controls, new electrical infrastructure and reticulation and lift upgrades.
WT Partnership provided pre contract cost planning advice to Construction Control from concept design up to tender stage. The project derives its name from its funder, Canberra Airport owner, philanthropist and Old Boy of Canberra Grammar School, Mr Terry Snow.
Split over three levels the building includes a hydrotherapy pool, sleep centre, 50-seat theatrette, fully equipped gym including 60 m Australian Standard sprint track, medical and physiotherapy rooms and an environmental chamber for exercising under controlled temperature, humidity and oxygen pressure to simulate altitude.
