The flagship boutique located in one of Sydney’s rare remaining Commercial Skyscrapers from the Edwardian period provided the heritage base to align with the 180 year old high fashion manufacturer. The boutique is the 12th consecutive project WT has been commissioned on with this luxury brand, developing a great working relationship over many years.

The cost management WT provide for the client has developed to an efficient understanding of the brands high expectations, select global supply chain, and adaptation into the various Australian markets. WT are required on each project to cost and manage the overall project budget for the design that incorporates suppliers across many countries. The complexities of currency tracking, global fluctuation forecasting and reporting of risk in the supply costs is unique to this client.

The flagship boutique provided the most challenging project to date, with integration of the heritage base building fabric and services, ever evolving design changes with authority approvals and scrutiny of the proposed designs, and latent conditions that continued through to the final stages of construction.

The focal point of the boutique is the central staircase, twisting between the levels. The engineering and finishes required constant collaboration between the multiple design teams, fabricators and artisan craftsman to create the stair. WT was in constant contact with the stakeholders to manage and report on the cost of this major design element.
