In August 2014, the Government formally issued a Notice to Consult to Southern Cross Airports Corporations (SCAC) as contemplated under the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) process laid out in the lease for Kingsford Smith Airport (KSA). This effectively triggered the commencement of consultations and detailed planning for WSA, the first major Greenfield airport development in decades.
