WT has been appointed by Sydney Metro as Independent Estimator for the Sydney Metro West Linewide Systems Package, contributing to cost certainty and commercial assurance on one of Australia’s most significant public transport programs.

Sydney Metro West will deliver a new 24-kilometre underground rail connection between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD, transforming connectivity across Greater Sydney. The project is targeted for completion in 2032.

The Linewide Systems Package covers the construction and commissioning of core rail systems, including trackworks, power systems, tunnel ventilation, lighting, drainage and fire systems, as well as a new stabling, maintenance and control centre at Clyde. The Package was awarded to John Holland in December 2025.

As Independent Estimator, WT will provide independent cost estimation and assurance to support the management of the package’s incentivised target cost approach, helping Sydney Metro and John Holland navigate complexity, manage risk and make informed commercial decisions throughout delivery.

“Sydney Metro West is a once‑in‑a‑generation investment for Greater Sydney,” said Sam Mendoza, National Infrastructure Lead at WT Australia. “Our focus is on providing confidence in the cost foundations that underpin effective delivery of the Linewide Systems Package, supporting value‑for‑money outcomes.”

“We’re proud to contribute our expertise to help deliver a safe, reliable network that serves communities well beyond opening day.”

This appointment builds on WT’s track record advising on complex transport projects across Australia, providing independent cost management and commercial advisory services that help clients manage risk and create sustainable value.
