Online shopping continues to shape Australia’s logistics landscape, driving demand for faster, more efficient parcel processing. In response, Australia Post established a new automated parcel sorting facility at the Gold Coast Logistics Hub, enhancing turnaround times and meeting the growing expectations of consumers and businesses.
The 14,087sqm facility includes a high-capacity warehouse, modern office spaces and extensive parking to accommodate cars, vans and bicycles. Equipped with state-of-the-art automation, the facility is capable of processing up to 6,000 parcels per hour, 75,000 parcels a day and up to 90,000 during peak periods such as Christmas.
WT supported developer ESR throughout the project’s delivery, providing cost management and quantity surveying services. Our scope included financier reporting to help secure funding, tax depreciation schedules, asset register development, and condition reporting, ensuring a smooth transition into operational readiness and long-term value protection.
Completed in 2024, the Australia Post Gold Coast Logistics Hub is a long-term investment in the region’s infrastructure. It reflects the area’s ongoing population and economic growth, strengthening last-mile delivery capability and supporting the broader e-commerce ecosystem.
