Located in Melbourne’s bustling CBD, MECCA’s new flagship store is redefining the retail experience in Australia. Spanning three floors and 4,000 square metres, the store occupies the iconic site of the former Coles Book Arcade on Bourke Street.

Designed to be more than just a beauty destination, the flagship blends retail with experience, featuring beauty treatments, holistic wellness offerings, a MECCAversity auditorium, fragrance ‘Scentsorium’, gifting mezzanine, cafe and a living gallery all under one roof. This ambitious project marks a new chapter for MECCA, reflecting its commitment to innovation, community and creativity.

Expert advice for an innovative retail offering

WT was engaged by MECCA in 2024 to provide cost management and program advisory services. As fitout contractors were engaged, we assessed contractor pricing against industry benchmarks to ensure value for money and alignment with the scope of works. We also managed progress claim assessments and variation reviews, helping MECCA maintain cost control as the fitout evolved.

To support on-time delivery, our team reviewed extension of time claims and analysed head contractor programme logic to identify and address risks to the delivery timeline. Our involvement provided MECCA with greater confidence in both cost and schedule throughout the project.
