Project Value:

$1.7 Billion

The Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation (MAPT) is the biggest cultural infrastructure project in Australia’s history.

The Victorian Government is investing $1.7 billion to transform the precinct through the creation of an extensive new urban garden; attracting more visitors, creating new jobs and enhancing the existing iconic institutions in the precinct – Arts Centre Melbourne and the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).

The project is highly complex because of its scale, investment value and public impact both during delivery and in operation.

MAPT is set to deliver:

  • 18,000 square metre urban garden
  • New connections into and through the arts precinct
  • Improved all-abilities access
  • New restaurants and bar spaces
  • Significant upgrades to Arts Centre Melbourne’s Theatres Building
  • The Fox: NGV Contemporary

As the appointed Quantity Surveyor for the project, we are working closely with Development Victoria to provide precinct wide cost advice for the transformation.

We look forward to seeing this phenomenal project evolve and come to life with completion expected in 2028.
