After a six month design competition, attracting over 20 entries in the first stage, four teams were shortlisted with Francis-Jones Moreham Thorp (fjmt) winning the design competition for the new City of Casey Cultural Precinct.

The $200 million redevelopment of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery will create more than twice the present display space, including a dedicated facility for travelling exhibitions that will enable the Museum to host international exhibitions of a standard never before seen in Tasmania.
