QGC

QGC, a BG Group Business entered into an engineering, procurement and construction contract with McConnell Dowell Constructors and Consolidated Contracting Company Australia for the ‘Narrows Crossing Contract’ as part of its Export Pipeline Contract in Gladstone / Curtis Island which is part of the Queensland Curtis LNG project. This project is one of Australia’s largest capital projects, involving the development of three (3) LNG trains on Curtis Island and a 540 km pipeline linking the gas fields in the Miles area to Gladstone. The project’s first stage comprised two (2) LNG trains at the Curtis Island Plant. These trains, which have a design life of at least 20 years will produce a combined 8.5 million tonnes of LNG a year.

The EPC contract involved the design, procurement and construction work for a 540 km, 42 inch underground gas pipeline network transporting coal seam gas from QGC’s gas fields in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland.

WT was engaged by QGC in relation to the marine crossing from the mainland to Curtis Island and provided contract cost administration and claims support in response to the Contractor’s claims on matters of delay, quantum and scope issues.
