Leading international cost management and advisory firm WT today announced that it is committed to become carbon neutral in Australia by 2025, as it prepares to seek Climate Active certification.
“WT has been on a journey to quantify our carbon emissions, and then take steps to mitigate, reduce and offset,” said Heidi Mitchell, WT Australia Chief Operating Officer. “Through a pilot project in our Sydney office, we’ve identified a range of lessons learnt for the remainder of our Australian business, putting us in a strong position to meet our target.”
Heidi said the firm recognises the importance of reducing the climate impact of its own operations, including scope 3 emissions. “By the end of the year, our Australian offices will move to 100% renewable energy and we’re also looking at introducing automatic offsetting of flights and accommodation while continuing to explore additional carbon reduction and mitigation measures.”
“A better future is a collective challenge, so our clients’ sustainability goals are our sustainability goals too,” added Heidi. “We’re proud to be in a strong position to influence and assist our clients through our Carbon & Sustainability services and build a more sustainable future across the project life cycle.”
“Together with our clients we can use less, recycle more, build smarter, and create resilient built environments and a positive legacy.”
