Due to our long-standing relationship with Melbourne Airport, we were granted the opportunity to provide full QS services, cost planning and cost management services to Essendon Football Club for their new High-Performance Centre at Melbourne Airport.

The project, which was developed on a 10- hectare greenfield site, included the development of two full sized AFL ovals as well as:

  • Indoor training spaces suitable for drills, match tactics and game simulation
  • Medical, sports science & recovery areas
  • A pool and aquatic recovery area
  • A large gymnasium space
  • A one kilometre running circuit
  • An auditorium and dedicated spaces for player/coach reviews, and game analysis
  • A player development, lounge and study area
  • A consolidated football administration building

The training and administration base were finished by the middle of 2013 while the ovals, (one the same size as the MCG and the other the size of Etihad Stadium) were completed ahead of the 2013 pre-season.
