The adaptive re-use of the original David Jones Men’s Store; fronting 77 Market Street, will see a luxurious 22-storey residential tower rise above the heritage-listed building.
The project involves the redevelopment of the site into an iconic mixed-use building, with the existing podium refurbished into retail and commercial premises, and a new residential tower constructed above with a core through the existing building to underground basement parking and loading.
The project presents an opportunity for a premium real estate development to create flagship, luxury and premium retail opportunities; anchoring Sydney’s established Castlereagh and Market Street luxury intersection.
Connecting via existing bridge and tunnel links as an extension to Westfield Sydney, the project will have:
- 9,884sqm GFA Large floorplate and a high ceiling
- 11,817sqm A-grade commercial office space, targeting 11,817sqm GFA
- 14,800sqm GFA Luxury and premium residences with harbour views, protected by the Hyde Park solar access plane, sitting above the existing heritage building podium.
Construction commenced on this project at the end of 2020 and is due for completion later this year; we are providing full quantity surveying and cost management services for the project.
